If you’re lucky enough to be going on a skiing holiday then you might want to buy your own skis unless you just want to rent them when you get over there. If you think that you’ll never go on a skiing holiday again then it might be a better idea to rent them out, but if you think that you could end up going skiing on a regular basis then it’d be much cheaper just to buy your own skis.
